We are a small group of web developers who have donated our time to create this site. We felt there was a need for a place of dignity on the web to promote unity and tolerance, to provide information, and to provide a meeting place for those seeking help and offering help, to share stories and images, and to memorialize those lost. The members of our group are:
Cynthia Du Bose
I wanted above all to create a place of restfulness and thoughtfulness ... a place where people can be in a more contemplative mood when reflecting on these awful events. And a place that truly honors those lost in the tragedy and treats their memories in a respectful way. I myself suffered a tragedy when I lost my son to suicide 11 months ago. So I understand the trauma of sudden loss, and I know how important it is to talk about it, and the need to feel the lost person is not forgotten.
Michelle Thompson
After the attacks on September 11th, I noticed that the focus was on the terrorists and the destruction that they had caused. I wanted to use my talents as a web designer to shift that focus to the American people - to the people who were lost in the tragedies, to the people who had survived, and to the ordinary people who became heroes by having the courage to do what needed to be done.
Peter Begley
Touched by the fact that so many people sought to help others in such a great time of need, I felt that there must be some way for me to be involved. The suggestion by some friends to create a web site promoting unity was the perfect fit for what I was looking for. I am happy to have been able to help the others in a supporting role in their very extensive work putting this site together. Let's hope the message of unity is heard by all ... |
